1987 R-20 454 with 502 roller cam running rich
I have a 454 with a 502 roller cam out of a 1987 r-20 chevy pick-up that I put in an 1985 chevy c-30. Just got this thing going and it is running way rich. I installed a new oxygen sensor and this is fuel injected so I have idea as to why it would run this way. I do have a vacuum line that is cracked that runs from the EGR valve to the EGR solenoid check valve, I would not think could be my entire probelm, I taped it up and it still runs pig rich, well rich enough for the motor not to respond and to blow black smoke like a mildly turned up diesel. The service engine light comes on and goes off at random, assuming this could be considered the check engine light in 1987 on obd1 system.
