1988 chevy 2500 rebuilt 700r4 problems

so recently installed a rebuild 700r4 from a company in AZ american carz. Transmission has been in truck for approx 200-250 miles, tv adjust properly and line pressure checked by trans shop locally so to my knowledge and that of the shop i went to all was well, day before last took truck down the road and it took a while to build pressure and go into gear, figured low on fluid parked the truck went through the gears than checked fluid level right on the money, start truck up this afternoon and attempt to move it and no gears at all, checked for fluid ouput and it streams out fine from the cooler line, does not smell burnt but fluid is a dark purple in color. ideas? i know 700r4 are a difficult tranny to set up and fairly tempramental but my last one was problem free for 230,000 miles! any input advice or otherwise is appreciated
