I have an 88 chevy c1500 and it's been skipping when I get up to 60 mph and it jumps back into drive then back into overdrive so I put a tune up on it thinking it would help but it still does it and I am just wondering y it's doin that any suggestions would help thanks

Are you certain it's falling out of overdrive, or is it possible it's falling out of lock up?

What do you mean falling out of lock up? It's like when you get up to 55 mph it's like it goes down a gear then jumps back into overdrive

The 700R4/4L60 Trans uses a Lockup TC/TorqueConverter, it has an internal Clutch. This locks the CrankShaft & Trans together 1:1 and drops the Engine rpm an extra 200-300rpm when cruising.
Does your engine rpm cycle about this amount or is it cycling from 3rd to 4th to 3rd gear?

A bad TCC Solenoid, Brake Light switch or TCC can cause this.
TCC = TorqueConverterClutch.

Can be tough to diagnose. A Pressure Test would help figure out what's going on.

A few things that could cause this:
Pump problem, low pressure.
TV/ThrottleValve binding/sticking.
Governor problem.
4th gear Servo problem.

Pr. Gauge example >> http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/atd-5550.html Amazon has good prices on these and many have Free S/H.
