1988 GMC Sierra transmission problems

my transmission seems to go every time i do a burn out im lookin for ideas on how to either build one that can go to hell and back or what i should put in. my truck is an 88 gmc sierra with a 355 under the hood.

Give us a clue on what transmission you are running now.

Your current transmission burns up each time you do a burn out? Is this on the street or drag strip ?

Is this 355 engine really build up to high power?

well it dont go every time that was a little exaggeration but it goes often but it is on street.# Base engine - Basic engine with intake manifold and valve covers
# Dress engine - Complete engine including induction, ignition, fuel pump and other accessories

I am still not seeing the transmission listed.

Is it a 4L60 or a t-350 or a t-400 transmission?

Check out Jakeshoe's tH350 buildup located at the top of the trans/rearend section. I think His build is said to be good for 600 or so HP , haven't read it in awhile. I think Jake mentioned when doing a burnout to have the shifter in 2nd to keep from hurting the trans, can remember exactly. Guess I need to read it again also.
