I'm decideing on a Engine Swap for my Camaro, It's a 1989 Camaro, 305 TBI, Question is, What is all required for a swap to a 350 or 383 stroker.
Will I have to change the TBI etc....
I know the 700r4 tranny wont hold, so probably gonna swap with a th350 or 400.
Any Thoughts?

hello if i was you i would get rid of the tbi and put a nice holly or edelbrock carb just a idea tho my cuzin when he put in a turbo 350 tranny he hads get a custom drive shaft made he has a 1983 camaro mines a 1984 am i am building a 350 to max performace total rebuild with 400 turbo tranny and 456 gears next motor i am gonna do is a 396 all built up!!lol so let me know

i gotta 305 with a holly 550 double pump and b&m rachet shifter and shift kit and dynomax exhaust and mild cam and i smoke my buddies 1972 nova with a 350 in it lol

There are lots of companies that sell mods for the TBI setup. Also, with the 700r4, you have a lower first gear ratio than the 350 or 400, so you have a good off the line advantage. Plus, if you want lower gears in the rear end, the overdrive will help on the gas milage. The 700r4 can be built to take lots of hp and abuse. Don't sell it short, its a good tranny when built up some.
