tbi is throttle body
cfi (crossfire injection) is basically a dual tbi system and was used on vettes and camaros/firebirds, this system isnt worth its wieght in scrap metal

flux core mig is fine for turbo headers or any headers, just check ur welds for pin hole leaks

got the car running and driving now, had a big issue with my dual 340LPh fuel pumps overpowering my 3/8's return line, so i was ending up with fp at 72ish psi at idle, causing my injectors to act much much larger.

anyways the car was due to goto the body shop in 2 months but they called a few days ago to tell me they could fit the car in on the 1st

so i started to do the body work on the car

first up was the hood

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...018_190038.jpg
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...018_190110.jpg

the plan is one panel a day then get body filler on it and sanded then off to the body shop for the paint.
i did the hood entirely by hand, but hell with dooing the rest by hand tommorow im running out and getting a da sander, then after that ill body fill were needed and sand by hand

the hood was also the worst panel on the car, the roof is second though that might need a total strip down to bare metal, wont know until i start sanding it tommorow.

other then that i got one ding in the rear quarter panel and a ding in the passenger door to fix

and today i got the hood stright and primed needed a lil bit of body filler for a few spots but not bad at all

unfortunalty the fully finished pics were way to dark ill grab some tommorow

tommorow the plan is to get the roof completly sanded and primed

ended up swaping the cam out and pulling out my twin 340lph pumps. the return line wasplaugged up and caused the pumps to deadhead, this eventually led to pump failure, for the time ebing i installed twin corvette zr-1 fuel pumps

car deffinatly needs a retune now but its running again
heres a quick vid right after the cam swap

How much do you have in the engine upgrades. I have an 89 Firebird that I just bought that was hacked up with a carb engine just like yours

Great build!

One concern. Eight 65# injectors won't support over 1000HP at 85% duty cycle. Even if you crank fuel pressure up to 75psi they will barely break 900HP at 7psi boost, and mid 800s at 15psi. And that's with a conservative BSFC of .60. Many turbos are more like .65 especially with 882 heads.

You may need 80# or even 95# injectors to get to your HP goals.

minimal amount actually

the block was a 0010 4 bolt block and had a factory forged crank so i reused all that.i had a set of rods from an old project that were already shot peened resized good arp bolts, so im in it for the cost of new pistons, rings, bearings, cam, and gasket set

reused the 882 heads.

the tpi intake cost me 300 bucks, and i went aftermarket with the ecm since they hacked the harness so add in another 300

i have 2 120# injectors just upstream of the throttle body these will be spraying methanol and should carry me into the 4 digit power numbers if not the 65's will be swapped out for something larger down the road. only reason i didnt go larger on the injectors right away was because this is a street car so i wanted to make sure the car would idle and cruise well

right foot 1 transmission 0

i knew it wouldnt last long as it was never built to handle a forced induction motor, it was built to go behind a hot n/a355 sb but i did figure it would last a lil longer then it did

round 2 to ensue soon

How much boost pressure were you running? how are you tuning your air fuel ratios with those cast pistons? I have the same setup in an s10 and I think i wanna keep it in the 11s underboost to help save the pistons
