First off remove the air cleaner, start the engine and observe the injectors. Make sure both are spraying a pattern. If one of the gaskets blow one and in some cases both sides will be leaking fuel in. If that checks out okay the next step is to check it very carefully for vacuum leaks. On a computerized vehicle if there's a vacuum leak the engine is pulling in unmonitored air, the oxygen sensor "see's" the lean fuel mixture so it adds fuel trying to compensate for it. If there are no vacuum leaks then check the fuel pressure and spark timing, make sure they're both within spec.
