1990 mustang 5.0 HO info

I have a motor out of a 1990 mustang 5.0 with the HO on the upper intake. It runs well and is comming out to be transplanted into my 1963 fairlane. The thing is that I don't know much about it, and if it is a true HO or not? I would appriciate any info on this motor from HP to idendification to internal componets, etc. I have heard that the firing order is different, but don't know much else.

Finally ready to get started, eh? Here's the info you need to know.

1) A 1987-1993 Mustang 5.0L engine has flat top forged pistons with valve reliefs. 1994-95 have hypereutectic flat top pistons with valve reliefs. Pre-1987 motors have no valve reliefs, which sorta scratches the idea of an aftermarket camshaft as well as a nice set of heads (the pre-87 motors came with E5 and E6 cylinder heads.......not cool).

2) Compression ratio is 9.0:1

3) 1987-92 motors were rated @ 225 HP. The rating system was changed in 1993, and the HP dropped down to 205, although they didn't make a single internal or external change.

4) Stock cam lift is .444"

5) 1987-95 5.0L motors had a 351W firing order (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8)

That's pretty much all I have for ya. If you think of anything else, either post, send a PM, or email me. Good luck with the Fairlane!

O.k, beside the whole HO mystery is it the same intake manifold from earlier 302's going to fit the 1990 5.0 engine that I have now considering that I'm planning on doing a carborator swap on this motor?

If you're asking if you can use the carbed intake from earlier 302s on your 1990 302, the answer is yes.
