1990 supra "F"

i have a 1990 Toyota supra turbo . not happy with the 7mgte platform ! so i am and have always been a ford man ! so i got a 1990 gt ho 302 roller motor. gone through the hole thing . put 30 or more hours in to the stock heads. to pore to get a set of good flow heads . hears my ish , should i get a mild or street cam ? using a redone c6 auto tranz stock converter . and would like to stay with EFI. any pointers would be grate full!!

toyota engine is very good,are you considering the 5 liter as a swap in?

yes i am swapping to 5.0 . the 7mgte and the 7mge inline 6 bottom end is the ish .! thrown rods in two 7mge and one gte ! and never really ran ether of them hard! they pop head gaskets often . and the parts are out of control .

th JZ would be easier and probably more powerful.
If you use a 5 liter,may as well turbo it so you can keep up with the toyotas.

well the 2jzgte or the 2jzgtte are 2000 to 2500 used not including the trans. and that would only give me 300 - 310 bhp. to get any up grades for ether motors would break dam near any ones bank. with this 302 i can hit 350 + hp and stay under 1500 if i get the combo right !

V is right and has some other insights.

The platform is loaded well. That supra needs to run more boost. You can take about any factory fresh modern car and boost it well beyond the power of a the big block full body cars . Those heavy roadable beasts I built got down in the 13 flat area. Some people that are not competing, get a little carried away sometimes with their power combos. When you transplant the engine and mount location it can cause headaches. There were not many successful interbrand transplants in my parts. Most short lived, and when broke, poor engine access led to its eventual abandonement.

The 5.0L E303 cam is very good and roadable.

this is true. i have done the geometry and this small block will sit low and back front mounts with plate to stock body mounts. and a adapter for trans cross member.and the width is les than 7mgte . dont for get a lot shorter .the stock heads are just tell a good set land in my lap .. but just thought some one has a tested true cam set up that apply s . ?
