1992 chevy 1/2 ton (383 Stroker) won't rev!
We just finished (we thought) building a 383 for a 1992 chevy pick-up. everything is hooked up, valves a adjusted and timing is set. The motor runs good at idle and revs quikley to 2200 rpm but will not go any higher. What is the problem?
(Timing is at 0* we tried to advance but didn't help, fuel pump is good)

do you have the correct timing tab for the balancer you are using?, that small block should purr with 6-8 degrees initial timing with 36-38 total at about 3200 rpm, are the valves properly lashed?what carb?

Are you using the stock TBI? And if you are, have you increased your fuel pressure? I have a 383 in my 1 ton and it took some playing around to keep the computer happy. <img src="graemlins/crash.gif" border="0" alt="[crash]" /> <img src="graemlins/evil.gif" border="0" alt="[evil]" />
