1992 dodge dakota will crank won't fire.

we have a 1993 dodge dakota 3.9 2wd we hit a deer and it was totalled but under hood parts are good ......we're looking at a very nice mint 1992 dodge dakota 3.9 2wd this guy says when he bought it , it didn't start thought he could get it going they man he bought it from said he put a new css on it and ecu , the guy that has it now that we want to buy it from said he put new coil, wire harness, and fixed loose wire at gas tank. i dont know in what order but got it to start and drove for three weeks before its upto it again it will not fire it cranks but no fire . we took our css over and it still won't fire , it makes a loud screechn noise when u first turn key the fan kinda hesatates at first turn then follows through but won't fire we checked for spark at coil wire and no spark . what do u think. o when we had jumper cables hooked to my jeep for jumping it ,,, it dumped my voltage in red zone. would the alternater be bad??? Thank u so much

crank sensor

try another one

charge or replace the battery

need to have full voltage in it

just going to end up ruining the starter next if you dont

also check the distributor drive gear, there is a problem with these 3.9L losing the gear(worn gear)

see if the rotor is turning with the engine

see this thread:

this is one of those vehicles i would never own,
they just have so many starting, running and other problems and issues commonly.
at least the 3.9L anyways.

hope you are buying it for no more than maybe 100 bucks or less.

good luck
