1992 GMC Sonoma will stock tranny hold up to V8?

i am dropping a 400 small block chevy in a 1992 gmc sonoma, and i was wondering how well the factory tranny and real end would hold up. im not going crazy with the engine maybe in the 350 hp range. Any suggestions?

If you have the 7.5"/7.625" 10-Bolt they're weak, Traction is what will kill it. The 8.5" 10-Bolt will be fine.
I'm not sure if your 700R4 has the 60degree bellhousing or 90deg bell. The 60deg wont bolt up to the V8. Either way the trans needs to be beefed up.

same rear as in most other cars as well and they dont come apart very often.

what kind of trans you got in it?

5 speed?

7004r?

run it til it breaks then worry about it

it may never break.,

all depends..

most ppl dont have an issue with the original trans when they put a v-8 in
