1993 Taurus Axod-E Transaxel
I am getting codes 628 (lock-up solenoid circuit failure) and 634 (manual lever position sensor out of self test range) on a 1993 Taurus GL.
I did the procedure to correctly set the manual lever position and eliminated the codes for several days. The transmission now occasionally does peculiar shifts from 3 to 4 and occasionally the drive in 4th appears to cut out momentarily when driving around 65 mph on long hauls after 2 or so hours of driving. Both codes have come back again and I repeated the manual lever adjustment without any luck eliminating the codes this time. Does this sound like a trip to the transmission shop or do I need a more careful adjustment of the manual lever? Any tips would be helpful. |
