top speed is directly preportened to how far you push the gas peddle down and how long the straight away is. 92 what? How far down did you push the gas peddle and how long was the straight away?

I BELIEVE THE TOP SPEED WAS LIMITED BY THE COMPUTER AS TO THE "Z" RATING OF THE TIRES INSTALLED WITH THE SUSPENSION PACKAGE ORDERED.

Talking

They go faster when they are going downhill with a tail wind with the windows rolled up, how fast are we going now? Lets pump the tires to 50 psi and see how fast she'll go now, Hmmmm.... still not fast enough hey! Lets take the spoiler off and see how fast now! Hmmmm....maybe we should flip the air cleaner lid upside down (c'mon I know you've done that before!!!). Geez still not that fast? I know lets tape the body seams and clamp the springs so the car rides lower! Man, still not that fast, lets try chilling the fuel? Nope that was no good, wait I know! This will make it go faster for sure.

Lets change the speedo gear in the tranny! AHHHH...thats better, see I knew we could make it go faster. :p

4 Jaw, I think I know your people. Put cardboard over the grill during the run. My favorite: Turn the radio off, it takes some of the power from the battery. You guys really know how to start my day. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

what ya'll don't have no 200 mph tape and ya'll are supposed to be speed enthusiasts there are just as many uses for 200 mph taps as duct tape and even at my young age i know how men think they can fix anything with a roll of duct tape but 200 mph tape 1 won't look as tacky as cardboard and it's stronger

The top speed of a Z28 is 165 mph this is a bone stock car. The only camaro that has a limited speed is the automatic trans cars and the v6's.The auto trans cars will run 140 and the v6's shut down at 108. But a 6-speed will run 165. Just ask any of the little ricers that drive around my home town. I have stomped a many of them.

ledfoot94z28, PRO48ENFO is correct, if you optioned it with the wrong tires then your speed was goverend. I don't remember exactly what the governed speed is, but on LS1 cars 98+ Fbodies if you didn't get a 6 speed or the Z rated tire option the cars were limited to 114 mph. My LS1 car came with a 162 mph limiter, a few tweeks with a Hypertech HPPIII later and it's now set at 255 mph, I only actually took it up to it's top speed once before I raised the limiter, and don't know why I turned up the speed limiter ( maybe because I could ), I have no plans of ever trying to hit the old 162 limit again.

I'm sure that my car isn't even capable of breaking 180 mph, but at least I can tell people that my speed limiter is set at 255 .
