Changed tranny out with a junkyard one and is having the same issue. The tranny ran fine for a few days then started having problems with shifting. Now tranny will not go in drive but will move and upshift if you run it thru the gears manually. Tranny will go into reverse and seems to be fine as long as you manually go up thru the gears. Any thoughts on the problem?

was the cooling system for the trans flushed clean for this replacement transaxle?

Unfortunately no, and I knew better and it didn't get done. 1995 Pontiac Grand Am that had the engine rebuilt just last year and has since turned into a money pit. Trying to get a low cost fix for my son until he can save up for a better car. i can fix anything if I put my mind to it but sometimes you need a little help. I have learned to do many things because i am too cheap to pay someone to fix something that I know i can learn to fix myself.

has it been checked for codes ???

I havent figured out how to read the codes yet. The ALDL connecter only has pin A, L, and M no B Diagnostic terminal in the connector.
