1995 chevy s10 blazer 4x4 v6 trans problems

I have a 1995 chevy s10 blazer 4x4 v6 vortec. I was pulling out of a parking lot and the transmission i assume jerked and i lost all forward gears so I put it in reverse and drove back to the parking lot. I sat there for a while and checked trans fluid while on and it was fine made sure it wasnt linkage. then i took the trans fuse out and it kicked into third gear only when it was in overdrive. It would not kick into first or second gear. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!!!!!!

SonnyFaust;

welcome to the HR board. I edited the thread title.

Please do not post a "HELP ME!" thread title. There are many experienced and/or professional fellows here. A proper thread title will get more responses.

Mileage on this trans? Any recent repair or service work on the trans?

With the fuses installed into the fuse block;

Does the trans move forward in "OD" ? Does it move forward in "D". Move the shifter all the way to manual "1" to see if the trans moves forward.

Very odd the trans "kicked in" with the fuse out , yet would not move forward with the shifter in "OD or D" .... by "kicked in" ..., you do mean the trans engaged into gear?

Report back when you can . thanks

kinds sounds like the forward sprag broke when you pull the fuse it will send t into limp mode and will revert to third gear regardless the sprag is broke and you will need a overhaul or a fix, could also be the low roller clutch will it take off in first with it in M1

It has 207,000 miles on it. i just changed the trans fluid on it about 2,000 miles ago. It will move forward(with the fuse out)in OD and D but it is in 3rd gear when it does it will not move forward in 1st or 2nd. It wont move forward in any gear with the fuse in. Also when i start it and let it run for a few minutes it will make like a grinding sound regardless of what gear it is in and when i rev it up it gets louder.

Pull the trans out for a proper rebuild...

you have planetary failure It goes forward with the fuse out because you only have 3rd gear the solinoids need voltage to acheave different gears in 3rd they are both powered off. in 3rd you have no gear reduction that why its called drive, its direct drive. your forward sprag works because if you put it in manual 3rd 2nd or first the overun clutches hold the sprag, yours doesn't different problem at any rate you need an overhaul
