1995 chevy silverado 5.7 engine timing.carb version.

i have an 83 caprice with a 1995 chevy silverado 350. v8 5.7 liter.it has a edlebrock carb and (EB)high rise intake.It has HEI distributor with adjustable vaccum adance.The Motor hesitate in cranking and when i get down on the gas pedal my valves starts to rattle.temp gauges runs around 195deg.oil level is good.I beleive the timing is off..

from reading others u shoulow howd place the balancer marks on 0tdc if fuel injected
and 4 btdc if using a carb.can anyone tell me where to start from here or if this information is correct.I know how to using the timing light but dont understand how to get the total degreez.

Try the search function here, there are tons of threads about timing.
You can never have too much power, just not enough traction...
