1995 Z-71 truck transmission problems
i have a 95 z71 that a bought a couple of days ago the dude said it had a shift kit in the trans but any ways i was driving it earlyer today and when it hits 30 mph it just lets the motor reve up than i gave it all the gas it had and it caught another gear than iyt did the same thing what is it any help?

what tranny does it have? 700r4/4L60 0r 4L60e/4L80e? but never the less always start with the basics,check fluid levels and or filter fluid change. It possibly just needs a rebuild. how many miles is on the truck?

95 model would have the 4L60E electronically controlled Trans.
Take it to a Trans Shop & let them hook it up to a Diagnostic Tester that can check the live Data stream to & from the ECM/PCM. Most will do a check for free.

If you have a 4L60E then my vote would be you have a shot 3/4 disk pack and need a tranny rebuild.
