1996 c220 mercedes engine problem

The wiring harness has been replaced but now car engine surges
Will ramdomly rev up even after warmed up
Happens when in drive then you get NO Throttle response till you
restart car

Does the ASR light come on when the problem occurs?

Sounds like maybe the egr or the iac is acting up. I would test the egr and make sure its working properly. Sounds like it may be leaking or opening at the wrong time.

No that light does not come on

Can I switch engibes to a C230 ???

Does the ASR light ever come on, like before the engine is started?
Does it work. I have a hunch the bulb is out.
Probably a bad throttle body/TPS assembly
