1998 Mustang trans. compatibility
I'm trying to find a replacement automatic transmission for my 98 mustang gt. The transmission has been slipping and has repeadedly gotten worse. It began by feeling like someone was riding the clutch in a straight shift when taking off from a dead stop. When downshifting, it really slammed into gear. Recently, I put it into drive and nothing happened. I gave it some gas, and around 3000 rpm, it started to creep foward really slowly but would still not fully drop into gear.
I'd like to know where I would be able to find information on what other vehicles had the same transmission as the one I have so I can maybe find an affordable replacement. I'm stationed in Hawaii and cost of repair or new replacement is too expensive for me. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

4R70W. Trucks used them too. I think they interchange

Be careful. They came with 10" tail housings and 11" tail housings. Also, there are 2-bolt starters and 3-bolt starters.
