Yes the RTV will work just fine...if used properly. I have the Felpro blue rubber re-usable pan gasket, suppose to put on dry, which I did but it still leaked just a little at both ends. When I pulled the engine to do some chassis work I flipped it over, pulled the pan, cleaned all the surfaces and gasket with thinner. Used the red RTV sparingly on the corners and loop and buttoned it back up....no more leak after it was fired again.
