hey, does anyone know right off hand if a 1st gen camaro shell will bolt on to a 4th gen chassis...or like what can be done (if anything) to make it fit?
with some fabrication you could put the drive train from a 4th gen into a first gen f-body. the LS1/LT1 6 speed combo is pretty sweet. But like poncho said the 4th gen is a unibody
With the right talent and skill anything can be adapted to anything. No, it is not a direct bolt in operation but it could be done with a little effort to produce a nice ride IMO. The LS seriers engines would make a nice combo in a 1st gen Camaro.
Why dont you just make a S/G race car out of the 1st gen. after all thousands of others have. The 4th gen is a much better car for all around use,why not just drive it and enjoy it.I have owned several camaros, but I sure get tired of seeing them at the drag strip. I just looked at mar 07 hot rod magazine and 0n page 21 goodmark has a full page ad for a steel 67-69 camaro body that accepts 4th generation suspension.the picture looks sort of like they welded the 4th gen front structure on to the early body.
