2.8L in a 1993 GMC Sonoma

The 2.8L in my 1993 GMC Sonoma is showing signs of needing replacement. The motor that is currently in my truck has the throttle body fuel injection. I have located a 2.8 multi port motor from an 87 Camaro. It comes with the computer and everything. Has anyone ever done a change like this or have any information that may help?

Thank you!

have you thought about upgrading to a 4.3 or v8?? im not sure what else would be involved but as long as youre changing over computers and such it might not be too much more trouble to go with a 4.3 and theyre nice little motors... just a thought

What he's talking about would just be a induction swap. If he put a 4.3 or a V8 in then he'd have to change mounts, cooling system, exhaust and more.

Thank you all for your input. I am aware that I need to change the fuel pump, and that a few of the sensors may have the wrong plugs. If anyone knows of anything else I may need to change -- I am new at this!

I have considered putting a larger motor in, but with having to change the bell housing and mounts etc, I don't think I want to get into that at this point.

Thank you very much!!
