2 jet carb base pattern year change

ok i have forgotten now, its been so long since ive seen or messed with 2bbl chevies but we have a 68-73 307 engine in the 57 2 door and we need a carb for it so we can fire it up again such.

well i have a 1977 style 2 jet carb sitting here 170572190 and its been so long since ive seen the old style 2 jets that am not even sure if this is one of them or is one of the later bigger ones(round top airhorn still)

because i know they made the base bolt pattern smaller in the 60s and early 70s

in which the intake on the 307 has still(and is the old tall filler neck tube style intake)

the '77 carb is this style:

will it fit?

i was thinking '74 was the last year of the small base bolt pattern 2 jets and intakes.
i know 74 was still small because i had a '74 G10 van with 350 years ago and it was small base style same as the '68 c-10 with 307 i had, and many others these years as well.

if it wont work then im gonna have to just swap a Q jet intake and carb on it hmm..

im pretty sure this 77 one is the later larger style though...

the carb is here with me and the engine is in the car and is over at the shop a mile away, so.,.

thanks

Small base should be 3-1/4" x 1-7/8". Same as early Carter and Stromberg WW carbs.

If I'm not mistaken, the small base plate Rochester 2G will also have a 2-5/8" airhorn opening.
