this is a 48 chevy fleetline. It sure looks to me like the factory rear axle is set ahead 1-2 inches from center of the fender. What are the masses doing when they replace the torque tube rear diff with an open upgrade? Second question is,the torque tube setup is mounted offset from centre on the spring pack, is the spring pack centering bolt going to be wayyy off center so there would be difficulty keeping these springs attached to a donor diff? Not sure why these photos won't upload???
Yes it is set ahead about an inch. And the center bolt is off set about 1.5" forward. So what I do is make a 3/8" plate with two holes, one to fit the center bolt, and a second hole about 2 1/2" back that is tapped for a 3/8" Allen bolt to act as the new center bolt..
