200-4r tag missing, what are these numbers?
On the right rear of my 200-4r trans, there is a small round boss near the output shaft, and a rivet, but no tag. Assume that boss and rivet is where the ID tag went.
But, on the left side of the trans case, just above the pan flange, there is a boss with the numbers 6G9735062 stamped into the case. is this some sort of VIN derivative? Does the 6G mean anything? Thanks, Doug |
No clue what that number is, but you could try pulling the pan an see if there is a number on the valve body, that might help narrow it down.
For example I got my 200-4r trans from an 87 monte SS for the V8 Beetle I'm building, and when I pulled the pan the valve body was a CZ-5 valve body which is I believe 86-87 monte ss. http://www.v8beetleresource.com/epbi...3-22-09-52.JPG You can see some more pics of my 200r4 trans on my site at: http://www.v8beetleresource.com/trans1.html Hope that helps a bit. 200-4R Application Chart
The CZ5 would be late 85-86 SS-Monte.
