yes i have a 2000 Chevy s10 it has 144k miles on it when put in drive and when i go to pull out its like its in a higher gear or something because i got to give alot of gas to pull out i can manually shift from 2ed to 3erd but that's all i have no 1st or overdrive and when i just drive it in drive it just don't shift at all but its like its in 3erd gear i went to auto parts and had it checked out on a coed scanner they said all of my shift sensors are bad i changed both 1st to 2ed and 3ed to 4th i changed the fluid and filter could be a pcm failure i don't know

check for a bad fuse. from what youre describing, the trans isnt getting +12v. and is taking off in 3rd gear.
theres also known issues with corrosion at the ignition switch and that also can cause lack of battery voltage down to the trans.

well never thought of that what fuse is it well the battery was bad i jus put a new one in but never tryed drove it yet but if could find a fuse to so i can cheak it as well

well i bought a obd 2 scanner it through a code up p0860 witch is gear shift module communication circuit im kinda sure i may have to have it rebuilt

ok i have the same flip in problem itz a p0860 gear shift module communication circuit meaning mechanical problem and yes you better be saving some pennys because itz really hard to find these transmissions that r in good shape i think it will coast you around 800 to 1000 dollars ebay might be ok to find one if i was you id have a 4.3 dropped in it

have you checked fuses yet? all that code is telling you is that the pcm is not getting commands to the trans. the fuse will be listed as trans or it will be a pcm fuse. theres 2 or 3 pcm fuses.
it will either be in the power distribution block in the engine compartment, or it will be in the panel on the drivers side.
if the fuse is good, it still doesnt mean that power is getting to the trans. the problem could still be in the ignition switch as its a common problem.
getting the trans rebuilt based upon an electrical diagnostic code is just not very wise, even if the trans may need to be rebuilt anyways, its best to find what caused the code in the first place or all youre doing is throwing money at it without actually fixing the problem.

well you are right ive looked at my fuses and they look okay but im come to realize that im getting 6 coeds and i believe itz all electrical issue umm i was wonderin there is a box on the side of the tras the gear linkage is on it i see it has some wires hooked up mabe tha box has gone bad im not sure all i know is i hate trans problems lol

that is a range sensor. not your problem...
you cant just look at the fuses, you need to check them with either a DVOM or a test light. if theyre ok, im gonna say your problem is gonna be with the ignition switch .
what other codes do you have?
remember what i said, the trans has to have battery voltage down at the trans or its not going to work properly

corrosion is the main problem with the ignition switch. probably the easiest way to tell is with the key on, take a test light and see if the trans fuse is getting power (should be a 10 amp fuse if i remember correctly). if not the switch is most likely the problem.

hey me again umm from what i can tell now nottin is wrong with the ignition switch i got under the truck and i could tell right away that someone had changed or took the trans out form some reason there is a bolt missing from the neutral/range switch so many wires mabe it would be possible for it not to have a groun or loss ground
