2001 mitsubishi Eclipse A-Frame/Lower control arm bent PLEASE HELP!!
I was planning on purchasing this car, I even went and took out a loan for it, for $2500. I get a call from the owner, (Friends) and her husband hit the ditch with it last night. She said that it busted the front pass. side tire, and bent the A-Frame/Lower control arm, and since that was bent, the wheel was about an inch further back. I have changed the A-frame, on other cars that have been wrecked, not a big deal. But my question is, do you think that there is some actual Frame damage as well? They said that there isnt, but this websites has helped me out alot. So I decided to post this on here. thanks. OH, They told me that I could now have the car, for only $1500, and it did not hurt any body parts, or blow the airbags even.

I would have the cars frame/unibody checked first, no damage you are getting a better deal. Damaged, you can get an estimate on the repairs.

Well, I am going to go up there on Monday, with a trailor, and I am going to look at it, and I think I should be able to tell, if its just the A-frame. But If the frame is damaged, I dont think it should be bent really really bad, so anyone have any idea of a price range of getting it fixed?

Well, they looked at it, and they said that the A-frame, is for sure bent, so I guess, my question is, if the A-frame bends, does it bend the actual frame too?

Ok, Well I am going to check it out, They said that the wheel is pushed back about an inch, and the tire is rubbing the fender. And I know that a bent control arm would do that, and if it is just bent back an inch, I dont think that would hurt the frame would it?

Usually and I mean usually not always.The a frames are designed to bend to prevent frame damage in mild accidentsall you can do is put a straight one one and see how she looks.
