2002 B4c Camaro Lockout Drops Out

Just transferred title from Tallahasse PD to my name. What a machine! Trying to debug all the little things on the car. 4 speed electronically controlled transmission serviced by great techs. Car runs with lock in converter 99% of time. Instant response on throttle, feels like a manual transmission response. Occasionally, at normal highway speeds (60-75) torque converter unlocks. Computer is kicking it off...damn near redlined this morning. WHY? Got huge list of possibles from my favorite shop. Looking for shopping list of what tells the computer to unlock the converter. Do not beleive it is mechanical in tranny.

The converter umlocking will not cause the engine to go near the redline at 60-75 mph.

If the RPM is doing that, it ain't the converter. Something else is happening.

I'd suggest a quality scanner on the tranny to try an capture a record when the event happens to dianose the problem

Those are my thoughts exactly. Working with some friends who used to run nhra, and of course they go through the entire list of things that could be happening, with the disclaimer, that the computer should take care of it.

Can anyone suggest a scanner that will record the events? The problem I am having occurs after 45 minutes of highway driving or so.
