2003 Duramax A/C ?

I know this is not a hot rod ? but I don't know where else to go.Changed everything except the low pressure and cycling switch and the compressor only comes on for a little while when you first start it.It has a superchips chip with a code reader and it does not throw any codes.Help please, thank you.

You need to have gauges hooked up to the system to properly diagnose it.
Put the gauges on, watch as the system runs. Note the pressures when the system stop working. Also verify that the AC clutch is powering up or not when the problem occurs. L

I thank you for trying to help. The problem is,when you first start the truck the compressor runs for about 2 seconds then quits and never comes on again. If I jump the low pressure switch it makes no difference. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Have you checked for power anywhere with the vehicle running and selectors in the a/c mode? If not start at the fuse block and check them all also check relays at the power distribution block.

The vehicle could have a low refridgerant code stored in the BCM or PCM which could cause the issue. Just need to hook a scanner to it and see, then clear codes and charge.
You'll need something like a snap on or genysis to scan the BCM though.A generic parts store OBD II scanner probably wont get anywhere as they wont communicate with the BCM

I thank you but I am old school and afraid to fry something.I know where to check on an older vehicle but these newer ones have twice the wires to do the same job and delicate electronics to burn with one small mistake.
