Anyone have knowledge of proper TV cable adjustment for the 2004R or the 700R4 trnsmissions. I think you should have full boost before WOT. I have a Art Carr 2004R behind a BBC w/ 550HP. I don't want to fry it.
THIS is what finally did it for me! I searched/read everything I could find on adjusting my TV cable, but nothing seemed to work...until I ran onto this...ESPECIALLY the last paragraph about setting the cable about 1/4" out... http://www.chevyasylum.com/tech/tvcable.html :welcome:
One thing to make sure of (it is in some of the links) is to have the correct geometry on the throttle plate crank arm. You did not mention that you had this covered, if you do then good...my moot point.
TCI and others sell the correct crank arms for holley/edelbrock carbs. This ensures the correct rate of pull on the TV cable vs throttle position and is critical.
Here is a good read and explains how to do it by measuring transmission pressure. Warning its a little colorful and hard to follow.
