2004r questions

I've read some of the threads on here about the 2004r and am interested in building one for my S10 hot rod. What vehicles did they come in besides the Buick GNs?

Will the 2004r take a full power 3-4 shift?

Will the 700R4 converters fit the 2004r?

Most G-bodys, many B body cars, etc. 1981-1990.

Cutlass's, Regals, Skylarks, Cadillacs, Monte SS's.

Yes they will shift WOT to OD.

Early 27 spline 700 converters are the same, later 30 splines are not.

Can the input shaft be converted to 31 spline?

Anything can be done with enough money and time, but the STOCK 27 spline inptu shaft is good for 550 HP usually, aftermarket 4340 shafts are good for over 750 HP or more.

No real reason to mess with it if it isn't broke...

Except that I have a 31 spline converter I'd really like to use. Save a little money.

ETA; maybe it is a 30 spline??
