Well i scored myself a 2004r for $80 and it looks like it has a newer pan gasket, the fluid was still a reddish tinge but it was getting dark but it had a tag on it and im wondering what it is or if its significant?

that tag is the MFG. date.
I have one in my chevy van behind a 6.5 diesel,
it works great. however, be sure to have it checked out b4 you
use it for anything.

Do you have the tag from the bottom of the tranny near the tranny mount boss? That tag has some good info on it. Probably 4HE or 4OG, maybe a 5OZ.
