2005 gmc 1500 4x4 Swapping transmission, cross member question

Im swapping my transmission in my truck, its a 2005 gmc 1500 4x4 with a 4l60e. i have literally everything disconnected and the transmission is sepereated from the motor by about half an inch, i cant remove the transfer case as the top nut/bolt i unaccessible with a wrecng or socket. is it possible to remove the torsion bar crossmember and drop it as one? and how do you remove the cross member? the transfer case rest about 3 inches onto it. some one please help, i go back up north in 2 days for work and need my truck
