To my understanding - and this may not be correct - the oil pressure seemed to be fine but the gauge would bounce up and down from time to time due to a faulty sensor, which has now been replaced. Should I ask ask him to fire it up with the new sensor now installed, and keep and eye on the oil gauge, or would that possibly risk further damage?

EDIT: He says the pressure stay a little above 80 psi. Also, the truck was just hooked up to the computer and it says crankshaft position sensor.
