2006 GMC Sierra Rear End Popping Noise

Hey there guys. I thought I would post this video on my issue with my rear end of my 2006 GMC Sierra Z71 1500.

The truck has a 4:10 rear end.

Thanks for all of your help and suggestions! Appreciated very much.

Click the link to view video of the noise.

shouldn't be doing that. they all have a little play, but not that much.

your trucks telling you it's time for a 14 bolt swap

hard to tell. almost sounds like the c clips arn't holding it in as they should.if the bearings are shot, it could possibly do that also, but they would have to be worse than bad. to the point there doing damage

Does it make any bad noises while driving?

If not, its wear in the diff, particularly if its a GovLok.

If it makes other noises, its probably the diff carrier bearings.

OK truck is fixed the 4:10 rear ends on these trucks ate Mae to have a good bit of slack in them. The noise I would hear at takeoff from a dead stop was actually the slip yoke being dry the dealership put some grease called "smurf snot" and its fixed
