200R speedo gears
I've got a TH350 now and was thinking of putting in a 200R it's the earlier model with the mech. speedo cable, Can you change the speedo drive gears like in the 350? I changed the gears in that one to match the tires/wheels but that one had the removable tail shaft. Thanks for any help. Eric

Actually, changing speedo gears on a 200-4R is even easier than on a TH350 or TH400. The driven gear is in the speedo cable output housing, just like on a TH350/400. Pull cable, remove one bolt, and the housing pulls right out.
The speedo drive gear is actually on the governor, not on the output shaft. You access the governor by dropping the pan. With the pan off, you'll see a small bolt-on cover at the back of the case. Unbolt the cover and the governor pulls right out. A snap ring holds the drive gear on the governor. |

Thank you for the info I just wasn't sure how much of a pain it was or if it could be done. Thanks, Eric

The trouble with the 200R4 speedometer gears are they ALL seem to be frozen into the case.
