200r4, 700r4 on efi engine.

Is their a way or can you us a 200r4-700r4 transmission on a all electronic engine? not a fly by wire engine. It does have a throttle cable.

If you have a throttle cable the engine is not all electronic.

if that is the situation, then hooking up a TV cable from either transmittin to the throttle EFI - TBI is fine since GM did it too.

Go to Bowtie Overdrives. He has setups for both transmissions to multiple carb/efi hookups. After looking at the site, give him a call and explain your problem. Bet he has a simple cure.

what efi system???

most aftermarket have a t/b that uses a cable..
the new oem take outs are t/by wire

what are we working with??

I'm going efi on my 71 truck down the line.. and for an throttle body.. on it I'm going to use a g.m. 80's CCC-q-jet with the carburetor venturies removed... as these q-jets have a Throttle position sensor in/on them.. and will bolt to 4 barrel intakes even if I need a holley to q-jet adapter..

my 86 SS I'll either do the same or use a oem LT1 (93-98 lt1) throttle body, and fab up a elbow to put the t/b in the same spot that g.m. did on those engines.. this will allow me to use a carb intake and use g.m.'s t/v cable set up with the correct geometry..
same with the ccc-q-jet.. in the case of my truck it'll need the 2004r cable
if the SS gets the ccc-q-jet it too will use the 2004r cable.. if I use the LT1 t/b it'll use the 7004r cable hooked to the 2004r as the trans end of the cables (I've been told, haven't seen personally yet) are the same.. but the lt1 set up the cable is longer to get to the front of the engine, the carb type only has to get to the center..
both vehicles will run a 2004r..

so what efi are you going to be running that be a start..

GM factory ecotec fbw, electronic throttle body. Only wires going to it. With some help I have found some standalone controllers for the 460le transmissions for $600 and up. Seems like I could adapt a ls1 single bore throttle body to the engine. I am not sure if I can get the factory ECM and harness to support the 460le transmission. It is the cheapest transmissions in my area, rebuilt and used.

It might be easier to go manual transmission.

There were some peeps on here (awhile back) that were contemplating setting up their TV cables using a bell crank on the pedal itself, but I don't remember any of them posting back with results...

Who cares if the TB is fly-by-wire or not. The car still has an accelerator pedal. Simply run the TV cable through the firewall and attach it to the pedal. GM did this for the kickdown cable on TH350s on Oldsmobiles, for example.

I did find a megasquirt new box. I have used some early megasquirts. They make a standalone unit, that can me tied into other MegaSquirt systems.

Cost is around $250 for the unit.... But you need a 4l60e or 4l80e.
