200R4 Converter

I just wrestled the 200R4 into the '72. The trans was from an Olds. When I went to bolt up the converter, it was about an 1/8" off from the 400 SBC flexplate...?

I've got another 200R4 from a Monte Carlo behind another 400 in my '86 and it bolted right in.

Was/is there a difference in the BOP and Chevy converters?

Looking for solutions.

What do you mean by off by 1/8"?
I had a 200R4 from a Monte SS that was a duel pattern housing, it first went behind a Buick 3.8 turbo then later it went back behind a Chevy. The convertor bolted up fine behind ea.

The bolt holes in the converter are about 1/8" closer to the center of the converter than the holes in the flexplate.

I was wondering about extending the flexplate holes with a die grinder...?

Anyone see a problem with extending the holes equally?

I suppose super glue is not an option.

Good news. I had two 400 flexplates and just grabbed one. Tonight I looked at the other one and it has a dual converter pattern.

Don't you just love when it all (well, almost all) comes together.

Glad you found an easy fix, I had to get out where my 3.8 is stored to check the flexplate, it has the duel pattern.
