200r4 Manual Valve upside down?

I just finished reassembling 200r4 Valve body. Cover not on yet
Tranny is upside down on blocks.

I can't remember how the manual valve looked.
I have the linkage from the shift level throught the whole in the manual valve.

Can it be installed upside down?

When I work the linkage the back end of the valve (toward rear) has a cut groove showing upward. Should it face down

My mistake

Second look and the hole for linkage doesnt not go all the way through.
Can only be installed one way.

I am a bit nervous on my first automatic shift kit install

YUP, I got mine in "upside down" and everything back together before finding that the linkage would only shift ftom park to reverse! Had to partially disassemble and flip it over.
