2011 corvette LS9 in a 1950 chevy 3100
Hello, everyone I'm new in this forum so I don't know anyone here. I'm helping a friend restore his Grampa's 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup. He plans to put the new 638 HP 604ft lbs torque corvette LS9 engine in it and I need to figure out which rear end to use. Also what's the best thing to do for mounting the new engine and trans. I figure this chassis won't handle the umph of this engine so what's the best thing to do there? Should I box the frame or should we replace it? If boxing is the way to go what thickness of steel should I use.
