We have a 81 chevy camaro berlinetta with the 231 buick v-6. the engine has a cracked head and we are going to put a 350 into it. Since it has the BOP trans in it then we figure that we could put a buick 350 into it with little problem. does anyone know if the engine will go in with no problems or little as possible? i know all swaps have problems. but we are just wondering if things like the engine mounts are the same and if there are any problems with the position of the starter or anything else. We are getting a buick 350 for $375. The guy we are buying it from does not have any olds or pontiac. We know the guy and my hubby is in the navy and we dont have all that money in one place at one time. he is letting us pay on it. thats why i am asking about the buick 350. i know it has a th350 trans and that the 231 mounts are far forward on the block. thanks for any help in advance.

the mounts won`t be the same, however, most GM lines had holes in the frame for the engine mounts, you just have to find which they are, although I`m not sure if a F body will have them since they didn`t come with a Buick V8. I would get the mounts from a donor car, and look at the mount location and go from there.
