241 bb chevy heads "need info please"


i found a set of bb chevy 241 heads. i don't know anything about these heads accept they are oval port heads that has been port matched to a square port intake. what is the purpose of this? does it hurt the heads, or help them? do they flow worth a *****? i can get them for $250 buck's, are they worth that? any info would be grateful considering i know jack ***** about them (lol). thanks

I`ve heard of changing the port shape, there was a thread on it here before, they say it works. This was all the info I could find on them. It doesn`t say there peanut port, so I`d have to say there the medium oval port.

those heads are great heads for the street. casting #'s 049, 781,241 and 820 are the best large oval ports from the factory. I would check it for cracks first before spending any money in them. and more then likely u will need to add hardened seats if it does not already have them.
