250/Powerglide into '62GMC PU

I've got a '62GMC PU which I just inherited.

It's got the original 305V6 w/4speed, but it spun a crank bearing. No good.
I don't want to rebuild this motor as it's not high value and a gas hog. My hope is to turn the truck into a decent driver with some pep to it. No racer, just a fun cruiser.
I've a 250straight6 w/power-glide from a '68Nove 4-door that an uncle says should drop right in.

Is that correct?

Yeah, I know it's not all that powerful. But I'm now looking for a powerhouse with this truck. More a decent cruiser that'll do good on the highway too.

Will I need to do anything with the crossmember or the trans mount?

Wasn't that drivetrain installed in the equivalent 1962 Chevy pickup? You might need the Chevy mounts.

The little info I've got says it was. The hot rodder uncle in the family says it'll go right in.

I just wanna check around before doin this. I tend to get a bit aggravated when I run into unforeseen complications. Nothing quite like having to undo everything because a little something or another wasn't gotten or done beforehand. It still happens, but I like to minimize that as much as possible.

THe chevy in 62 would have been a 235. Different motor mounts. You might need to fab some or modify the ones on the 250. Tranny crossmember mount needs to be removed. It's in the way for the tranny to fit right. You'll need to make one for the back of the glide.
It's doable but not a bolt in.

Several places make universal trans cross members, try TransDapt for one, they have some with drops, straight, etc.

Crossmembers

Check out eBay as well.
