hey can i put a 2500 stall converter in my car? its a challenger with 3.91 gears and 28 inch tall tires. the ingine is a 1989 360 (mopar) that came out of a 1 ton van, and according to some info i got off of allpar.com 89 360's came with the 340 camsaft and 4 barrel carb. it has the 4 barrel carb so im confident it has the cam in it.
i plan on installing a different camshaft later on but for now im gonna have fun with this a bit.
also im trying to figure out what gives a camshaft a rough idle. i've asked alot of people but i dont get any straight answers. the closest i got to an answer was that the overlap or rather a shorter duration gives that "rough" idle. im interested in this cam...
XE274H cam type
20-224-4 part number
.488 .491 intake/ exaust lift
230 236 @ 0.05"
274 286 advertised duration
1800 to 6000 rpm range
110º lobe seperation angle
... but i dont really know how to read wether it is smooth idle, rough or even in between. is it taking the difference between the advertised duration and the duration @ 0.05" ?
thanks if you can help
