254 muncie in 1974 c-10>?? doubts and installation questions.

here`s the inside scoupe guys. the 256 muncie is out of a 1955 chevy 2 door with bellhousing mounts? how would i have to go about putting it in my truck?
should i have to fabricate a tubular cross member and run peices from the tailshaft to the bellhousing mounts or should i take the mounts out/off the car frame and use them?. i`m kinda in the dark about fabricating this mount. don`t know how it should mount to the tailshaft; if it will that is. If anyone could shed some light i`d appreciate it. if i am to fabricate a crossmember, what gauge? and what design should i stick with. yah yah i know no angle iron it looks nasty and it`s rusts too dang fast. how about 2x3 1/2 10g. stell tubing? what kind of mount we looking for?rubber or solid? wraparound band for the tranny or could i use some bolt holes if any. anyone have some pics. the car is on blocks and it`s growed up around. can`t see the tailshaft that well.

thanks a bunch, scott.

Do all muncies have the same main cases?

i`m thinking of getting a muncie 4 speed from a 55 chevy 2 door. car, all i can see is the bellhousing mounts. what i was wondering is if, the tailshaft on this imperticular transmission has mounting holes for a tailshaft located bolt holes for transmission mount. U know the two bolts that`ll be my only way to mount the tranny in my truck. i have a bellhousing BUT... it is one for a sm-462 not the sm-465. it may have worked with it, but I`m not sure. i`m really looking forward to being able to use this tranny. And i have some other options. The `55 had a 9 inch rearend . all of the chrome was stored inside the car,all glass is good except windshield.Just kinda giving some info if someone is in need of such pieces. IF someone could point me in the right direction i`d apreciate it.

P.S. I remember seeing a forum which was entitled, 4speed in `65 c-10 or such year. I can`t seem to find it again.
