265 chevy
engine just cranks over no firing replaced cap rotor wires plugs getting gas and spark not sure if wires are on correct thats the only thing i can think of. please send help i'd really appreciate it this thing is driving me nuts, 1939dan

Firing order is 18436572.
I'm guessing you just decided to do a tune up to the motor and now you've arrived at your trouble? Any chance its an HEI distributor? What does you timing light do when you hook it up? I only ask because I had one on mine and was having trouble retarding the timing (wanted to run 12btdc at a minimum). The trouble was the cap was so close to the firewall (55 sedan) that it couldn't be turned very much. So I moved all the wires around one peg and set it to 4 btdc with a timing light.
