265 chevy wont start out of time

engine wont even fire i think it's180 off

I kind of doubt that it is 180 degrees out of time because you would have fire in the carb or alt least you would be talking about the BIG LOUD BACKFIRE you are getting.

What where you fixing that you had to pull the distributor in the first place. This could all be a small part of something much bigger,you see?

Give us a little more info we will be ablt otgive you answers. Then it would be up to you to choose the post you will do to fix your "No start problem.
