283 Chevy 1964

In The Back Of The Block By The Distributer There Is A Hole That I Believe Is For A Pcv Valve That Goes Into A Can Thats Mounted Under The Intake Manifold . Im Assuming A Hose Attach's To It But Don't Know Where It Goes From There And Does Anyone Know Where I Can Purchase One Of These Pcv Valves.
I Am Wondering If I Should Block It Off And Do Away With It

Thanks
Richie

Prior to any special smog equipment Chevy'y used what was refered to as a road vent tube which basically vented the crankcase fumes out of that hole and down a tube under the car. Most guys just use the proper size freeze plug and be done with it and install a normal PVC system..

You can however use that hole for a straight up PCV but you will have to find the right size push in gromet and then you can run 2 breathers off of your valve covers. Makes it clean looking also.

1 1/4 " freeze plug...But then you should run a PCV valve through the valve covers...
