The 307 has a longer stroke.............measure it.

If it has a 307 crank, you have a 307.

The 283 has a 3" stroke, if it's longer, its a 307/327 crank.

307's have a 3.25 stroke and the 283 has a 3.0. Just measure the throw, calculate the math, and you'll get your answer.

I've got a 283 crank with a flange that makes it look like a 350! I guess it got mixed up at the foundry or something.

Check the casting number. That's your only sure way to tell.
